Berkshires mini-Vacation!

Last weekend Jess and I went to visit our friend Leslie in the Berkshires! We went out because there was a sheep and wool festival in New York we wanted to go to. We went out on Friday so we could hang out, and since I'd never driven on the highway before. The highway got very rainy at times, but other than that it was fine.

We got there and took a walk around a lake, which was really pretty!

Note: didn't actually look this creepy.

In the summer it's the town beach.

Woods!

Yay leaves!

Yay more foliage!

Water! And people!

Proof that Jess and I were there...

So... after walking around and hanging out in Lee, we went to Great Barrington that evening and ate at the Gypsy Joynt. Great Barrington is such a cute town, and I'd like to go again, in the daytime and do some window shopping. We did walk around, and probably my favorite part (besides the food!) was spending quality time at a used book store, which was open until at least 10 at night and had a cat in it, sleeping under the desk!

The food there was so good! The music, however, was too loud and country. It was really fun that there was a live band playing at the bar, but it was not to our taste, and my tiny cat brain couldn't handle the volume and eating at the same time! Luckily I had earplugs in my purse. We also got ice cream afterwards.

Hey, remember Karen Allen from Raiders of the Lost Ark?

She has a fiber arts shop in Great Barrington! We saw it, but it was too late to go in, so I just took sketchy pictures of it.

We went back to Leslie's afterwards, hung out and watched a movie, and tried to go to bed early for the next day's excitement, which we failed at. Thus concludes our first day of our Berkshires adventure!
